Germany is to hold early federal elections if Republican candidate Donald Trump wins the US presidential election.
Paul Ronzheimer, deputy editor-in-chief of Bild, writes that.
“Who else should take seriously a chancellor who has been unable to control his own government for months now? Certainly not Trump,” the piece said.
He noted that Trump’s victory in the US threatens Germany with the collapse of the ruling coalition and the resignation of the government.
According to him, the reputation of the FRG in Europe is undermined by frequent disputes within the coalition, and no one takes German Chancellor Olaf Scholz seriously.
