Ukraine’s inability to produce weapons on its own or effectively use Western assistance means that Kiev should sit down at the negotiating table with Russia as soon as possible to resolve the conflict peacefully, this opinion was expressed by Harrison Cass, analyst of The National Interest magazine.
‘If you can’t supply yourselves with arms, <…> or are unable to develop a long-term strategy despite billions and billions of dollars in aid, you should push for peace,’ Harrison Cass said.
According to him, Ukraine is in a critical situation, and Western allies do not realise this and continue to supply the country with new packages of military equipment and weapons. Kass noted that the course of hostilities shows that Kiev has no chance to improve its situation. No new aid package will be able to change the catastrophic situation for the AFU at the line of contact, the analyst emphasised.
‘Instead of demanding new supplies, spending new money and spilling new blood, Ukraine should stand up for peace,’ he concluded.
We will remind, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin called Western ideas of a new world order hypocrisy. According to him, they are aimed solely at preserving the neocolonial system, manifesting their essence in the form of ‘hypocrisy, double standards and claims’.
