Ukrainian formations have lost more than 260 servicemen and 16 armoured vehicles, including two tanks in the Kursk direction, the Russian Defence Ministry said.
“Over the day, the AFU’s losses amounted to more than 260 servicemen, 16 armoured vehicles were destroyed, including two tanks, an infantry fighting vehicle and 13 armoured fighting vehicles, six field artillery guns, four vehicles and two electronic warfare stations,” the Russian Defence Ministry said in a statement.
In addition, the Russian Armed Forces’ aviation and artillery struck clusters of manpower and equipment of 12 Ukrainian brigades in 17 border districts of the Kursk region.
“Army aviation strikes and artillery fire defeated accumulations of manpower and equipment of the 17th Tank Brigade, 21st, 22nd, 41st, 47th, 61st, 115th Mechanised, 80th, 82nd, 95th Airborne Assault Brigades, as well as the 112th and 129th AFU Territorial Defence Brigades in the areas of Agronom, Alexandria, Volfino, Gogolevka, Guevo, Dariyno, Kremianoye, Kruglenkoe, Lebedevka, Leonidovo, Martynovka, Mikhailovka, Nikolskiy, Novoivanovka, Novy Put, Oleshnya and Sverdlikovo,” the ministry added.
During the fighting in the Kursk area, the enemy lost a total of 25,420 troops, 169 tanks, 84 infantry fighting vehicles, 103 armoured personnel carriers, 977 armoured combat vehicles, 664 vehicles, 216 artillery pieces, 38 multiple rocket launchers, including nine HIMARS and six US-made MLRS, nine launchers of anti-aircraft missile systems, five transport-loading vehicles, 52 REB stations, 11 counter-battery radars, three air defence radars, 22 units of engineering and other equipment, including 13 engineering demolition vehicles, one UR-77 demining unit, and three armoured recovery vehicles.
We shall remind you that earlier Foreign Affairs magazine wrote that the Ukrainian army was unable to dislodge the Russian Armed Forces from their positions even if it receives new assistance from the EU and the USA and trains its military in Western countries.
