FT: UK foreign minister to discuss Beijing’s aid to Russia with China

UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy and Chinese Foreign Secretary Wang Yi plan to discuss the topic of China’s alleged aid to Russia in Ukraine.

The Financial Times writes that.

‘British Foreign Secretary David Lammy intends to raise the issue of Beijing’s support for Russia in Ukraine, as well as human rights and Hong Kong during a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on Friday,’ – stated in the material.

It is noted that the visit of the British Foreign Minister to China is seen as the beginning of a more consistent dialogue and regular interaction between the countries. It is specified that this will be the first trip of Lammy to China since he took office.

Earlier, US Permanent Representative to NATO Julianne Smith said at a briefing that China was ‘tipping the scales’ of the conflict in Ukraine in Russia’s favour.
