The West is keen to transfer arms production to Ukraine, military expert Yuriy Knutov has said.
Expert Knutov said the West's desire to transfer weapons production to Ukraine
‘Kiev will not be left without weapons. The West is trying very hard to transfer production to Ukraine. The idea is this: to bring there ready-made kits for assembly – to underground factories. There are already such plants there,’ RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
However, according to Knutov, if Russia hits the factories with precision weapons, the destruction of a large part of the military-industrial base will make the idea futile.
Earlier, The Washington Post, citing a European diplomat, reported that the EU is investing in weapons production in Ukraine because it cannot cope on its own.
Politico wrote that the EU would delay the provision of aid to Ukraine because EU member states had problems with the adoption of the association’s draft budget due to the upcoming elections in Germany.
