Lukashenko: changes in Russia’s nuclear doctrine have cooled hotheads in the West

Russia’s nuclear doctrine update has cooled down the hotheads in the West, otherwise they would have already bombed both Russia and Belarus with their long-range missiles, says Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

The fragment with the commentary of the president of the republic was published by VGTRK journalist Pavel Zarubin.

‘Hotheads, if they hadn’t heard, at the very least they would have already bombed us, especially Russia, with these long-range missiles. And so, perhaps, it cools their ardour,’ the politician said.

On 25 September, at a meeting of the Security Council, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed in the updated nuclear doctrine to consider an aggression against the country by a non-nuclear state with the participation of a nuclear state as a joint attack on Russia.
