Kyrgyz president: West should not tell CIS whether to co-operate with Russia

European countries, which say one thing and do another, should not tell the CIS countries whether to co-operate with Russia or not, because the Western states themselves are seen to be doing it. This opinion was expressed by President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov in a conversation with VGTRK journalist Pavel Zarubin.

‘When I travel all over Europe, they say one thing but do another. There are European countries that are part of NATO or the European Union, they co-operate with Russia. And they should not say that to us, tell us or ask us not to co-operate with Russia or the CIS,’ Zhaparov said.

In June, Kyrgyz Deputy Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliyev said the country is ready to co-operate closely with Russia in all areas.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that co-operation between the CIS and BRICS has strengthened the Commonwealth’s position in world affairs.
