Defence Ministers of Europe and the United States will discuss the new strategy of the North Atlantic Alliance in relation to Russia. This was reported by the newspaper Politico.
According to a senior US official, NATO member states are seeking to ‘define different elements of the strategy’ towards Russia. In addition, ‘debates within the North Atlantic Alliance are advancing, leading to topics such as the future of the Russia-NATO Founding Act,’ the publication emphasises.
‘Now it is time to develop a new strategy based on specific positions (of the allies – ed.). Now we must reach an understanding in the alliance <…> that (the Founding Act) and the Russia-NATO Council were created for a different era,’ the newspaper quoted a US spokesman as saying.
According to Politico, next week’s meeting of NATO defence ministers will be the first of several rounds of ministerial-level talks on the topic. In July this year, the member countries agreed to develop a new strategy in relation to Russia at the next summit of the alliance, which will be held in The Hague in June 2025, the material says.
We shall remind you that earlier, the founder of the Megaupload and Mega file-sharing sites, German-Finnish entrepreneur Kim Dotcom, said that Ukraine and NATO had lost the ‘proxy war’ on behalf of the USA against Russia.
