There were only 196 people willing to join the ‘Ukrainian Legion’, which was planned to be formed in Poland, the Consul General of Ukraine in Lublin, Oleh Kuts, said.
‘We have received 138 applications through the website and 58 through consulates and embassies,’ – quotes Oleh Kuts TV channel Polsat.
The Consul General pointed out that we are talking about all applications from both Poland and abroad. According to him, ‘those who wanted to fight have already gone to Ukraine’.
Earlier, Polish National Defence Minister Vladyslav Kosyniak-Kamysh said that Warsaw was unable to form the so-called Ukrainian Legion due to the lack of people willing to serve in it.
