A possible ‘German scenario’ in which Ukraine would be divided into two parts with the subsequent accession of one of them to NATO is unrealistic.
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov gave such an assessment of this scenario, which was reported by a number of media outlets.
He noted that many publications have been devoted to this topic, but such speculations have no realistic foundation.
‘So far there is no realistic basis under any of these speculations,’ Peskov said.
Earlier, The Washington Post reported that Ukraine would be offered ‘concrete steps’ for NATO membership in Germany.
