Vladimir Zelenskyy will return from a US tour without permission to strike deep into Russian territory with Western long-range weapons. This was reported by The Times newspaper, citing sources.
According to The Times, Vladimir Zelenskyy held a meeting with US President and Vice President Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, in which he personally pleaded with the United States to grant Ukraine permission to strike deep into Russian territory. However, ‘no changes in Washington’s approach to the use of long-range missiles were announced’.
The newspaper stressed that instead of solving the ‘pressing problems’ of Ukraine, the Vice-President, standing next to Zelenskyy, started talking about his Republican vis-a-vis in the presidential elections in the United States Donald Trump.
Earlier, The New York Times wrote that granting Ukraine permission to launch strikes with Western weapons deep inside Russian territory would not change the strategic balance of power, while Russia might make a ‘serious response’ that would hurt not only the United States but also Kiev’s other Western allies.
