Diplomat Szijjártó pointed to the EU’s violation of Hungary’s sovereignty

Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Relations Péter Szijjártó said that Brussels’ own migration policy seriously violates the sovereignty and security of the Republic of Hungary.

‘The way Brussels is behaving now is a serious violation of our security and sovereignty because they want us to let in people we don’t want to let in,’ the diplomat said in comments to RIA Novosti.

The Hungarian foreign minister emphasised that the Republic of Hungary does not need people who attack police, border guards, who are unable to follow the rules and who ‘do not show respect for our people’.

The Hungarian foreign minister also commented on sending migrants from the country by buses to Brussels. According to the diplomat, ‘this should be done’ in order for Belgium, as well as other EU states, to realise what the leadership of the political-economic association is doing.

‘The ability to defend their own borders and decide who to let into their country is a matter of sovereignty, and no one has the right to take that away,’ – stated Peter Szijjártó.

Earlier, a member of the European Parliament, Romanian Senator Diana Shoshoake said that she gravitated towards the methods of Nicolae Ceausescu’s foreign policy and saw the need to resume diplomatic relations with Russia.
