The AFU is building defences in the Kursk region – Cohen

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are building defensive structures in Kursk Region and intend to hold this territory “for some time”. This was stated by US CIA deputy director David Cohen.

David Cohen told a US national security and intelligence conference that the Ukrainian Armed Forces intend to hold on to the occupied territory of Kursk Region “for some time” despite “having been forced to partially retreat”.

According to the official, the Ukrainian military “has no intention to annex Russian territory” and the CIA is in contact with Kiev to discuss Ukraine’s further plans on the captured borders.

In addition, VGTRK military correspondent Andrey Rudenko said that the Russian army had stopped the enemy and now it “will have to be forged out of the Kursk settlements”.

“This is not fast, unless, of course, we close the border and the enemy grouping will not fall into the cauldron,” – said the journalist.

Recall, earlier Harvard University professor Stephen Walt wrote in an article for the publication Foreign Policy that an attack on the Kursk region will lead to even greater losses in the ranks of the AFU, as well as significantly increase the risk of escalation of the conflict.
