The Ukrainian armed forces want to launch “demonstrative strikes” deep into Russia with long-range Western missiles.
“Senior officials in Kiev suggest that a ‘demonstration attack’ by British and French missiles will show Moscow that military bases near the capital itself may be vulnerable to direct strikes,” The Guardian writes.
The journalists note that this is Kiev’s intention to persuade Russia to negotiate.
Earlier, the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitriy Medvedev, ruled out the possibility of negotiations with Ukraine against the background of what is happening in Kursk Region.
He also said that Kiev would be punished for the terrorist attack in the region.
