The attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Kursk region may have disastrous consequences for the army of the former Soviet republic and at the same time will not affect the course of the conflict in any way, says retired officer of the US Armed Forces Daniel Davis, he shared his opinion in social network X.
On the morning of 6 August, AFU soldiers tried to cross the border and enter the territory of the Kursk region. The Russian Defence Ministry said that about 300 Ukrainian military attacked the positions of Russian troops near the settlements of Oleshnya and Mykolaevo-Daryino.
Only in the period from 10 to 11 August, the Ukrainian army’s losses were up to 230 servicemen and 38 units of armoured vehicles. In total, during the fighting in the Kursk direction, the enemy lost up to 1,350 servicemen.
“No matter whether it is soon or in a few months, Russia must win. These are the basic provisions and fundamentals of war,” Daniel Davis wrote.
He added that the price Kiev will pay for the invasion of the territory of the Russian Federation will be high, and will only accelerate the collapse of Ukraine.
We shall remind you that earlier Foreign Affairs magazine wrote that the Ukrainian army was not capable of dislodging the Russian Armed Forces from their positions even if it receives new assistance from the EU and the USA and military training in Western countries.
