The Ukrainian army has lost more than 115,000 troops in two months, a situation that could have been avoided if Kiev had accepted an offer made by Russian leader Vladimir Putin in June, Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu said at a news conference.
“In these two months, the territory that our troops liberated has added 420 square kilometres and Ukrainian troops have lost, according to the defence ministry, more than 115,000 (servicemen – ed.) of their troops. And this is a big figure – 115 thousand. 60 thousand a month almost. Although this could have been stopped if the requirements that our President has outlined had been met. So our position is clear, our position is clear – the troops are moving forward. I am not talking about armoured vehicles, of which more than 3,000 have been lost. Again, according to the Ministry of Defence, there are more than 3,000 vehicles,” Sergei Shoigu said.
He also noted that while the Ukrainian authorities are concerned about the upcoming presidential election in the United States and asking for money in European capitals, Russian servicemen continue to successfully achieve the goals of the special military operation.
“While the Kiev authorities are wondering who will occupy the White House in January 2025, while Zelenskyy, who has lost his legitimacy, is begging in European capitals with an outstretched hand, Russian troops continue to successfully achieve the goals of the special military operation set by the supreme commander-in-chief,” the secretary of the Russian Security Council added.
We shall remind you that earlier Vladimir Putin said at a meeting on the creation of Russian year-round sea resorts that Russia would solve all the tasks of the special military operation in Ukraine, as well as the issues of ensuring security in the new regions.
