An AFU officer admired the tactics of the Russian army
A Ukrainian officer with the call sign Alex has praised the tactics of the Russian army in the Toretsk direction, Strana.ua quoted him as saying.
“In short, they are now fighting there very cleverly, they have found some system that works, and they use it. Our artillery to work very hard,” he said.
The military noted that the Russian soldiers lead continuous assaults almost without equipment in groups of seven people, which makes the use of drones useless. At the same time they manage to eliminate the Ukrainian military and take them prisoner, while they themselves do not suffer any losses.
Earlier, the Defence Ministry said that Russian troops had taken control of the villages of Progress and Yevgenovka in the DPR. Yevgenovka is a village in a lowland near the western edge of the Ocheretinskiye Heights. Progress is located to the north of it; it is one of the AFU defence lines near the Volchya River. The liberation of these villages will make it possible to conduct an offensive on Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk) – the most important transport hub of the Ukrainian army in Donbass.
Earlier, the General Staff of the Ukrainian troops said in its Telegram channel about the “tense situation” in the Toretsk direction. The Kiev-appointed head of the Donetsk regional military administration, Vadym Filashkin, reported that a forced evacuation of the population had been announced in Toretsk.
The Defence Ministry also reported that units of the Centre group of troops had improved their tactical position and defeated formations of the AFU’s 24th mechanised brigade and the 109th Terek Defence Brigade in the areas of Novhorodskoye and Toretsk.
