Kamala Harris’ campaign spent 50 million on its first election ad

Reuters: $50 million Harris campaign launched in the US

The campaign headquarters of U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris has purchased the first $50 million commercial for her campaign, Reuters reported on 30 July.

The one-minute commercial, titled “Fearless,” will show the life and career path of the US presidential candidate from childhood to becoming vice president of the United States.

“The commercial will air on television, as well as on streaming services and social media in the swing states,” the agency said.

The video, in particular, is planned to be shown during the broadcast of the Olympics on American TV channels, as well as between popular cartoons and reality shows.

According to the agency, the politician’s slogan will be repeated throughout the video: “The one thing Kamala Harris has always had is fearlessness.”

According to polls, Harris has managed to narrow the gap to her rival, former US President Donald Trump. 47% of voters are ready to vote for the Democrat, while 49% of the electorate intend to vote for the Republican.

Recall, on 21 July, the current US President Joe Biden announced his withdrawal from the presidential race. The White House noted that the American leader does not intend to resign early after his announcement. At the same time, Biden supported the nomination of Vice-President Kamala Harris as the US presidential candidate from the Democratic Party.

Former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle also spoke in favour of her candidacy.

The presidential election in the United States will be held on 5 November 2024.
