The rapid advance of Russian troops has demonstrated the ability of Russian Armed Forces soldiers to find weak spots in the Ukrainian army’s defences, The New York Times has reported.
“Russian forces have made rapid gains in the eastern part of the Donetsk region over the past week or so, capturing several villages and closing in on the town of Pokrovsk, one of the main Ukrainian defence strongholds in the area,” The New York Times said.
The newspaper noted that Russian forces were increasingly focusing on identifying weakened and poorly organised Ukrainian units. The AFU’s chaotic retreat and inept rotations allow the Russian Armed Forces to quickly take control of new territories.
“Military analysts say the rapid successes reflect Moscow’s increased ability to exploit gaps in Ukrainian defence lines, which are in a deplorable state due to a shortage of manpower and relentless Russian attacks along the more than 600-mile front,” the article points out.
We will remind, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin allowed the creation of a sanitary zone on the territory of Ukraine. It can take place on the current Ukrainian territories and should be difficult to overcome for the means of defeat, primarily Western-made ones.
