The opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics in Paris demonstrated that the West no longer has a common moral foundation, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said in a speech in the Romanian town of Băile-Tusnad, broadcast by the M1 TV channel.
The opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics took place in Paris on Friday, 26 July. Many social media users expressed outrage at the parody of “The Last Supper” with the participation of transvestites and representatives of the LGBT community seen at the opening ceremony of the Olympics.
“The West thinks that nation states no longer exist. As a consequence, they deny that there is a common culture and a common morality based on it. There is no common morality – if you watched the opening of the Olympic Games yesterday, you could see that,” said Viktor Orbán.
The politician added that unlike the West, Central European countries advocate the preservation of nation-states rooted in a unique culture and based on common values, from which common moral requirements based on the biblical foundation are derived.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin called Western ideas of a new world order hypocrisy. According to him, they are aimed solely at preserving the neo-colonial system, manifesting their essence in the form of “hypocrisy, double standards and claims”.
