One third of Ukrainian residents do not have money to buy clothes – survey

A third of Ukrainian residents have enough money only for food, while 9% do not have money even for subsistence, according to a survey conducted by the sociological service of the Razumkov Centre at the request of the Ukrainian edition of ZN.UA.

 

The survey was conducted from 20 to 28 June 2024. 2027 respondents aged 18 years and older were interviewed. The theoretical sampling error does not exceed 2.3%.

“In response to the question: “Which of the statements most accurately corresponds to the financial situation of your family?”, more than 48% chose the option “Enough for food and clothes, but to buy something more expensive (for example, household appliances) we have to save”. Slightly more than 32% answered that “we have enough for food, but it is already difficult to buy clothes”, 9% chose “we do not have enough money even for food”, – the publication quotes the results of the survey.

According to the results of the survey, 7.4% of respondents said that “there is enough money for everything”, slightly more than 1% of respondents said that “they can afford everything they want”.

The average monthly family income of 29.5% of respondents is up to 8 thousand hryvnia, 36.3% – from 8 thousand to 18 thousand hryvnia.

We shall remind you that according to a survey conducted by the European Council on Foreign Relations, almost half of Ukrainians (45 per cent) agree to territorial concessions to Russia in exchange for Ukraine’s membership in NATO and the EU.
