The Russian Embassy in Germany said that the German authorities continue to stir up anti-Russian hysteria. Thus, the diplomatic mission commented on media accusations against Russia about the alleged involvement of the Russian side in the alleged attempted assassination of the head of the Rheinmetall company Armin Papperger.
“In Germany, anti-Russian hysteria continues to be artificially fuelled. The preparation of one-day stories designed to convince the public of Russia’s extreme malevolence and its aggressive plans, including against Germany, has been put on the stream,” the Russian diplomatic mission said.
Earlier, CNN TV channel, citing sources, reported that the security services of Germany prevented an assassination attempt on Papperger. According to the channel, the U.S. informed Germany about the preparation of the assassination attempt.
Later, it was reported that Germany had strengthened the security of the head of Rheinmetall after reports of plans to assassinate him.
