The main opponents of Ukraine’s accession to NATO are the US and Germany – Macron

French President Emmanuel Macron has said that there is “strong opposition” from the USA and Germany to Ukraine joining NATO.

“In the end, Ukraine’s invitation to NATO will be a decision of the allies,” Emmanuel Macron said, as quoted by the DPA news agency.

According to the French president, the scenario of the NATO summit in Washington will be “the same” as a year ago in Vilnius, when Ukrainians were “quite annoyed” that they were not given a direct invitation to the military-political bloc.

We shall remind you that Defense News earlier mentioned that the North Atlantic Alliance is still discussing on the sidelines of the summit what wording will be presented in the final communiqué of the NATO summit in Washington, which takes place from 9 to 11 July, on the issue of Ukraine’s membership in the military-political bloc.
