Biden may withdraw from the election – Axios

US President Joe Biden will withdraw from the presidential race, if his entourage decides so, writes Axios.

The US presidential election will be held on 5 November 2024. The main rivals in the election race are the incumbent head of state, Democrat Biden, and the former US leader, Republican Trump.

“The only scenario in which President Biden will step aside after failing in the debates is if a small group of his lifelong supporters, who contributed to his run, suddenly <…> decide that it’s time for him to announce his departure,” the Axios publication said.

According to the portal, the president’s decisions are influenced primarily by First Lady Jill Biden, his younger sister Valerie Biden, and friend and adviser Ted Kaufman.

“This decades-old kitchen cabinet acts as an extended family, a council of elders and a ruling oligarchy. Only these allies have influence over decisions, large and small, in the life and presidency of Biden”, – noted in the material.

We will remind, earlier Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev proposed the Russian version of the “peace formula” in Ukraine. He said that Kiev after admitting defeat will also have to recognise that the entire territory of the former Soviet republic is Russian land, and accept the act of reunification with the Russian Federation.
