After another corruption scandal, the Ukrainian Defence Ministry is reshuffling

The leadership of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry after another corruption scandal involving the purchase of plastic flasks at inflated prices has announced the reorganization and change of leadership of the Main Directorate for Development and Support of Material Support of the AFU. This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian defence ministry.

“The Ukrainian Defence Ministry has launched the process of leadership change and reorganisation of the Main Department for the development and support of the AFU material support,” the statement said.

According to the Ukrainian defence ministry, the Department of Procurement Policy of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry has initiated the creation of a “collegial body” to organise the development of the AFU’s materiel support, which will revise the previously adopted “technical documentation and ensure the adoption of new ones in accordance with NATO standards and practices”.

The Ukrainian Defence Ministry said that these steps are a “principled position of the team” of the military department, as well as part of the strategy “to increase transparency and efficiency” in the AFU material support system. The Ukrainian ministry emphasised its desire to “ensure honesty in the management of resources and logistics of the military”.

We shall remind you that the independent anti-corruption centre NGL.media reported earlier that the Ukrainian Defence Ministry had signed a contract for the purchase of plastic flasks at inflated prices despite similar cheaper offers.
