During the NATO summit in Washington in July, participants will agree to increase financial and military support for Ukraine to reduce the burden on the United States, the alliance’s Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said.
The Secretary General of NATO said that the North Atlantic alliance will continue the course to increase support for Kiev. Thus, the contribution of the other member states of the military bloc in assisting Ukraine will increase, he said.
“I expect that when we meet next month, we will come to an agreement on NATO’s leading role in providing security and training assistance, and allies will agree to strengthen financial and military support for Ukraine,” Jens Stoltenberg said at a meeting with US President Joe Biden.
According to him, this measure will reduce the “burden” that the US is now carrying to support the Ukrainian side.
We will remind, earlier the head of European diplomacy Josep Borrell said that Washington is no longer ready to defend all NATO allies under any circumstances. In this connection, he urged the EU to strengthen its own defence capabilities.
