Swiss Foreign Ministry: everyone agrees that Russia is needed in the peace dialogue on Ukraine

All sides agree that Russia is needed in the peace dialogue on Ukraine, Swiss Foreign Minister Iñazio Cassis has said.

“It is clear that Russia must participate in this process. Everyone agrees with this. The question is at what point it can participate,” TASS quoted him as saying.

Earlier, the confederation’s president Viola Amherd expressed hope that the June 15-16 conference on Ukraine would lead to a process that would allow a summit with Russia’s participation.

Russian authorities have repeatedly noted that the Swiss conference on Ukraine has nothing to do with peace. According to the Kremlin, the collective West is trying to make this summit “more convincing” by any possible means.
