Russia could use tactical nuclear weapons against NATO airfields – expert McGregor

Russia could destroy the locations of NATO’s nuclear-capable aircraft carriers with its arsenal of tactical nuclear weapons, according to former Pentagon adviser Col. Douglas McGregor.

The expert spoke about a possible preventive strike by the Russian army against NATO airfields in case of a real threat of use of nuclear weapon carrier aircraft by Western countries.

“The Russians warned us: ‘If you attack us on our territory, we have the right to respond.’ Specifically, we rely very heavily on the F-15 aircraft. It’s a great machine, a great bomber, and the Russians know it can carry nuclear weapons. <…> We’re going to have to use a lot of aircraft to support our troops in Ukraine. If the Russians see a lot of F-15s like this flying towards them, they’re probably going to have to hit all of our airfields,” Douglas McGregor said in a YouTube conversation with retired Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis.

According to the ex-Pentagon adviser, there is no point in Moscow taking risks and expecting a nuclear bombardment by US aircraft. In case of US aggression, Russia will be forced to destroy US airbases in Europe with tactical nuclear warheads, he believes.

“Remember that the Russians also have a battle-hardened army. <…> We have no such experience,” the expert summarised.

Recall, earlier Douglas McGregor said that the United States is not in a position to allow impertinent statements about Moscow.
