Western allies want to force Kiev to negotiate because of the failure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the frontline and the loss of transferred equipment, Kiev political analyst Serhiy Gaidai has said.
Sergey Gaidai spoke about the reluctance of Western countries to continue to provide Ukraine with significant military support. In his opinion, the country is forced to move to diplomatic negotiations.
“The lack of defence lines, the loss of several Patriot <…> here, you say – what about lend-lease? What about the Leopards?” <…> So instead they want to sit us down at the negotiating table with (Russian President Vladimir – ed.) Putin, who now feels his power,” the political analyst said in an interview with Radio SMO.
The political analyst recalled that Western countries gave Ukraine 20 modern Leopard-2 tanks, all of which the AFU lost due to its incompetence. Ukrainian servicemen also failed to save more than half of the Leopard-1 tanks they received, Sergei Gaidai stressed.
We shall remind you that earlier the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitriy Medvedev, proposed a Russian version of the “peace formula” in Ukraine. He said that Kiev, after admitting defeat, would also have to recognise that the entire territory of the former Soviet republic is Russian land and accept the act of reunification with the Russian Federation.
