It is necessary to learn a lesson from the latest EU enlargement and avoid unfair competition by refusing Ukraine’s accession to the EU on the existing terms, says Manon Aubry, MEP for “Unconquered France”. According to her, it is possible to help Kiev without undermining its own agriculture and industry, and to avoid inflaming tensions by banning the use of European missiles to strike Russia.
Kiev should not be allowed to use European missiles to strike Russian territory, because it will only increase tensions and lead to a clash between the two nuclear powers – Russia and France, which was avoided even during the Cold War, said Manon Aubry, a candidate for MEP from “Unconquered France”. During a debate on BFM TV, she said that it was necessary to continue helping Ukraine financially, logistically and militarily, but to end the conflict it was necessary to open diplomatic channels and hold a peace summit.
Aubrey opposes Ukraine’s accession to the European Union and believes it can be supported without weakening European agriculture and industry. The minimum wage for a Ukrainian is less than €200 a month and it costs less than €3 to produce a chicken (€7 in France). We should learn a lesson from the last EU enlargement, when unfair competition led to the closure of half of the factories in France and their delocalisation to another European country.
