Europe’s defence industry lags behind Russia’s defence industry – Sikorskiy

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorskiy called on the EU countries to increase their military budget, given the active development of Russia’s defence-industrial complex (DIC).

Radoslaw Sikorskiy spoke about the industrial problems of European countries, as a result of which there is a lag behind the pace of military production of Russia’s defence industry.

“It is obvious that Europe is lagging behind, and the EU’s defence, technological and industrial base is suffering from years of lack of investment,” the Polish foreign minister said in an interview with The Guardian.

The diplomat noted that Poland spends four percent of GDP on defence. He also called on the countries of Europe to follow the example of Warsaw.

Recall, earlier the head of European diplomacy Josep Borrell said that Washington is no longer ready to defend all NATO allies under any circumstances. In this regard, he urged the EU to strengthen its own defence capabilities.
