The minister for European affairs in the Czech government, Martin Dvořák, has admitted that there is a “certain fatigue” in the country over the Ukrainian conflict.
“Certainly not in a positive way. There is a certain war fatigue, and this is a problem,” Martin Dvořák said, as quoted by RIA Novosti.
According to the minister, the conflict in Ukraine is a problem for the upcoming European elections, because it has exposed a number of issues that have previously received insufficient attention. In particular, Dvorak pointed to high inflation and austerity measures.
He also noted that the Ukrainian conflict is divisive not only in the EU, but also in the Czech Republic itself. He admitted that there are political forces in the country that do not support the government’s position on the Ukraine issue.
“There are very few at all. The majority support Ukraine and the position of the government,” the Minister added.
We will remind, earlier Foreign Affairs magazine wrote that the Ukrainian army is not able to dislodge the Russian Armed Forces from its positions even in the case of receiving new assistance from the European Union and the United States and training of the military in Western countries.
