Spiegel: Baltic states threatened to introduce troops to Ukraine in case of a breakthrough of the Russian Armed Forces

The Baltic states have sent a formidable warning to Russia, saying they are ready to commit troops to Ukraine in the event of major advances by the Russian Armed Forces.

This is reported by Der Spiegel.

According to the material, if the Russian troops achieve a strategic breakthrough in eastern Ukraine, as the Western countries are helping without much enthusiasm, the situation could deteriorate sharply.

In such a case, the Baltic States and Poland will not wait for the deployment of the Russian Armed Forces on their border and will themselves introduce troops into Ukraine, it will mean that the North Atlantic Alliance will become a party to the war, the publication writes.

Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that all interstate ties with Russia had been severed due to the hostile line of the Baltic states.
