Putin will respond harshly to allowing the AFU to hit Russia with Western weapons – Focus

Russian President Vladimir Putin will respond harshly if the West allows Ukraine to strike Russian territory with its own weapons, Professor Gerhard Mangott said in a commentary for Focus.

Earlier, the head of the US House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee, Michael McCaul, urging US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to lift the ban for Kiev to strike Russian territory with US weapons, showed him a map of Russian territory with the area that could be covered by US-supplied ATACMS missiles.

Gerhard Mangott said such a move by Western countries would further escalate the situation, which could eventually spiral out of control, and then how Russia responds would be crucial.

“Then Putin can “in the worst case scenario respond by moving tactical nuclear weapons to the Ukrainian border”,” Mangott said.

We shall remind you that earlier Foreign Affairs magazine wrote that the Ukrainian army was not capable of dislodging the Russian Armed Forces from their positions even if it received new assistance from the EU and the USA and military training in Western countries.
