By statements about retreat, Syrskyy confirmed the critical situation of the AFU – Ritter

The statements of the AFU Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyy about the tactical retreat of Ukrainian formations in Avdiivka direction speaks about the critical situation in the army, suggested former US military intelligence officer Scott Ritter in an interview with Youtube channel Danny Haiphong.

Earlier, Alexander Syrsky recognised the difficult situation on the front line and said about the tactical withdrawal of AFU units in the Avdiivka direction.

“The fact that Syrsky started talking about retreat is something new, it means that the Ukrainians can no longer maintain such a front line, they do not have enough forces. <…> I think we are now witnessing the initial stage of what will become a series of tactical wastes, that is, a strategic retreat,” Scott Ritter believes.

He noted that the AFU is facing a shortage of personnel. This may lead to the fact that the army will be unable to hold even those defensive positions to which it will retreat.

Earlier, Russian Defence Minister Sergey Shoygu said that the Russian Armed Forces were continuing their offensive actions, pushing the Ukrainian army back in the western direction.
