The USA expects to send some of the aid from the new military aid package for Ukraine by 9 May, but it is unlikely that all the weapons will be sent by that time, the Politico newspaper has reported, citing a senior official of the US presidential administration, Joe Biden.
“The White House believes it will be able to expedite some of the aid to Ukraine before 9 May, but it is unlikely that all of the weapons from the United States in the package will be delivered by that time,” the published material reads.
According to the senior official, some of the aid, such as artillery ammunition, will be delivered quickly. However, other items will take longer.
In addition, ammunition for HIMARS MLRS can be sent promptly, and installations of 155 millimetre calibre will take longer to deliver to the front line.
We shall remind you that earlier Foreign Affairs magazine wrote that the Ukrainian army is unable to dislodge the Russian Armed Forces from their positions even if it receives new assistance from the EU and the USA and trains the military in Western countries.
