Former US President Donald Trump, who is running again to lead the United States, has softened his stance on supporting Ukraine.
The New York Times columnists Jonathan Weisman and Michael Gold write that they believe he has stopped being as negative as he used to be about the idea of providing American aid to the Kiev authorities.
“Mr Trump … has actually reduced the intensity of his opposition to aid to Ukraine in the last few days, while the blockade (of the bill) has begun to break through,” the paper said.
According to them, Trump gave his support to US House Speaker Mike Johnson, remained silent on the day of the vote on the Kiev aid bill, and refused to pressure Republicans on the issue.
Earlier, the US House of Representatives passed a number of bills aimed at allocating aid to Israel, Ukraine and Taiwan.
