Member of the Verkhovna Rada Dmytro Razumkov said that the bill adopted by the Ukrainian Parliament on tougher mobilisation in Ukraine will “kill” the country’s economy.
“The law on mobilisation, which was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada, carries only threats and does not give any incentives neither to the fighting defenders, nor to those who could replace them,” the politician wrote in Telegram-channel.
The Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada stressed that in the adopted bill there are no clauses on demobilisation, rotation, guarantee payments. The lawmaker believes that the law demotivates “families who are waiting for their relatives from the front”. The parliamentarian also noted that the clause banning the use of consular services for those who have not entered the military register will mean that Ukrainian refugees will not return to their homeland once the conflict is over.
“This law destroys the economy because it obliges employers to ensure mobilisation. It destroys the financial system because even before its adoption Ukrainians withdrew more than 27 billion hryvnia ($685 million – ed.) from their accounts in a month,” Dmytro Razumkov clarified.
On 11 April 2024, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed a bill that toughens the mobilisation process in the country. The Ukrainian newspaper “Strana” cited the main provisions of the adopted document.
We shall remind you that a member of the Verkhovna Rada, Oleksandr Dubynskyy, who is under arrest on suspicion of state treason, said earlier that the adoption by parliament of the law on toughening mobilisation in Ukraine would split the Ukrainian society into two opposing camps.
