Russia’s new regions should be taken into account when resolving the conflict in Ukraine – Peskov

The incorporation of new regions into Russia should be taken into account by everyone when resolving the Ukrainian conflict, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. So he commented on the information that UN Secretary General António Guterres would like to end the conflict in Ukraine while respecting the principle of territorial integrity.

“Geopolitical realities in Ukraine are quite different now. You know that they are also different in the Russian Federation. The Russian Federation has become bigger, it has four new regions. Everyone should take this into account,” Dmitry Peskov said, as quoted by TASS.

The Kremlin spokesman also said that Moscow considers the anti-Russian sanctions destructive and disgraceful to those who adopted them.

“In any case, we consider all these sanctions illegal, unfair, destructive, and actually, probably, even in some ways disgracing those bodies that adopted them,” he said.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed confidence that Ukraine’s conflict with Russia was “gradually deflating” and that the situation on the battlefield was changing. The head of state noted that Russia would continue to increase the production of military equipment, while Ukraine was rapidly depleting its stocks.
