According to the AFU serviceman, Russian aviation drops bombs on Ukrainian positions from the UMPK without even flying close to the line of contact or entering the zone of enemy air defence. Nazar Voloshyn noted that the Russian Army used similar tactics in the battle for Avdeevka.
