US Deputy Defence Secretary William Laplante has announced that the United States has launched full-scale production of the F-35A Lightning II fighter jets.
His words are quoted by the publication Warrior Maven.
According to the publication, these fighters are already being manufactured, but the formal transition to their full-scale production requires stable control over the process, satisfactory performance and reliability.
According to the publication, the Pentagon originally planned to approve full-scale production of the F-35 four years ago.
Earlier, the latest F-35 fighter jet produced by the United States was officially certified to carry nuclear weapons.
