Ukraine will not be able to defeat Russia on the battlefield – ex-general Kuyat

Ukrainian formations are unable to defeat Russia on the battlefield because they do not have the proper military capabilities, retired German Air Force General Harald Kuyat said in an interview with RBB Inforadio.

“In Germany, they romanticise war. They think it can be won by moral arguments. But that requires military capabilities, firepower. And in this respect, in fact, everything is slowly but surely shaping up in Russia’s favour,” Harald Kuyat said.

The former military officer pointed out that Russia has no tangible problems in recruiting volunteers for its army. The ex-general also expressed confidence that supplies of Western equipment would not help Kiev achieve its military goals.

“We have not managed to achieve this with tanks, and even with Taurus would not be able to do it,” – summarised Kuyat.

We shall remind you that earlier, a member of the Ukrainian parliament and deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada committee on national security, defence and intelligence, Yegor Chernev, said in an interview with the New York Times that there is a growing fear in Ukraine that the army will soon start losing control over populated areas if Washington delays the allocation of new military aid to the Ukrainian government.
