Foreign Policy: Russia could make its biggest breakthrough on the home front

In the coming months, Russia’s armed forces could make the biggest breakthrough since the beginning of the Strategic Defence Forces. According to the American magazine Foreign Policy, all the conditions for this are in place.

The article said that the lack of quick supplies of shells to the Ukrainian Armed Forces could turn out to be the “biggest acquisition” for the Russian army.

“Russia withstood the Ukrainian counter-offensive in 2023 and did everything to create conditions for a possible breakthrough this year,” the publication reported.

The author of the article also noted that five times more artillery shells are coming at Ukrainian positions than at Russian ones. In addition, he noted an increase in losses in the ranks of the AFU due to a lack of ammunition, including for air defence.

Earlier, The National Interest reported that NATO countries were supplying Kiev with old weapons that were not helping the AFU.
