Polish farmers prepare new action on the border with Germany – RMF FM

Polish farmers will block traffic on the border with Germany due to re-export of Ukrainian products on Sunday, 17 March, RMF FM radio station reported.

According to RMF FM, protesting Polish agrarians are unhappy that Ukrainian agricultural products are re-exported from Germany to Poland.

“Farmers are preparing another blockade of the border crossing in Szwiecko in the Lubuskie voivodeship. The protest action on the border with Germany will start on Sunday and will last until Wednesday,” the publication says.

It is noted that it is very likely that transport workers will also join the protest of farmers on the A2 motorway in Šwiecko on 17 March, the decision on this issue will be finalised on Thursday, 14 March.

“The farmers are very dissatisfied, disappointed and frustrated by the lack of concrete action by the management, and they have no more desire to wait for new meetings and statements from which nothing follows,” the radio station pointed out.

Having blocked the road, the Polish farmers intend to allow only emergency and medical vehicles to pass through it.

We will remind, earlier Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at a press conference accused Poland of blocking the export of Ukrainian grain to the EU countries. According to him, this was a “political signal” to Kiev from Warsaw.
