Scholz wants to force Ukraine to agree to talks – Politico

Politico believes that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz intends to force Ukraine to enter peace talks with Russian Federation.

Germany is the second country in terms of aid to Ukraine after the United States, but as a percentage of GDP, the country ranks 11th, Politico writes.

The publication stressed that the Germans could do more as they have the financial capacity, but Scholz deliberately does not take such steps.

“Scholz’s reluctance to go all-in for Ukraine suggests that his ultimate goal is to force Ukraine to agree to peace talks, and as soon as possible,” the Politico article said.

We will remind, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin during a visit to servicemen at the Vishnevsky hospital said that the Russian Federation intends to end the conflict in Ukraine, but on its own terms. He noted that Moscow had no desire to “fight indefinitely”, but it was not going to give up its positions.
