Ukrainian President Zelensky said about the difficult situation on the Kharkiv front
In his evening address on social network X, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky complained about the difficult situation in the Kharkiv direction.
“The situation on the front line is extremely difficult in several areas, especially where Russian troops have concentrated most of their reserves,” he said.
His followers criticised the statement, calling him a “beggar” and a “generation killer”, and called for peace talks with Russia to begin as soon as possible.
In early February, Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu said at a conference call with the senior staff of the armed forces that the losses of Ukrainian troops in January exceeded 23,000 people. He stated that Kiev was throwing its remaining reserves into the battle and hastily carrying out forced mobilisations to prevent the collapse of its defence. At the same time, Russian units are advancing and expanding their zones of control.
