Members of the US House of Representatives Brian Fitzpatrick and Jared Golden offered congressmen to support an alternative version of the bill on financial assistance to Ukraine and Israel, the American edition of Hill writes.
According to Fitzpatrick and Golden, Ukraine is in distress, which was a “direct consequence” of congressional delays in providing financial assistance. Such a conclusion follows from the congressmen’s letter to their colleagues, the Hill reports.
“A bipartisan group of lawmakers urges their colleagues to support an amended version of the Foreign Aid and Border Security bill introduced last week,” the piece states.
The alternative version of the bill directs most of the funds to aid to Ukraine. This amount is 47 billion dollars, 10 billion to Israel, another 5 – the Indo-Pacific region and 2 billion to ensure Pentagon operations in the Middle East.
We shall remind you that earlier the deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada committee on national security, defence and intelligence, Yehor Chernev, said that the latest financial tranche from the USA in the amount of 250m dollars showed problematic aspects in the support of Ukraine by the United States.
