An unnamed high-ranking Pentagon official has said that Kiev’s loss of Avdeevka in Donetsk Region will herald another failure of the Ukrainian army on the frontline. The official’s statement was quoted by RIA Novosti.
“We see the Ukrainians running out of critical supplies, especially ammunition. We see this as a foreshadowing of what will happen if we don’t get additional funding. <…> There will be many other points on the front line where troops will run out of supplies,” said an unnamed U.S. military official.
The senior Pentagon official stressed that Kiev will not be able to do anything against the Russian Army without Washington’s allocation of $60 billion, which Ukraine cannot receive due to disagreements in the US Congress. In her opinion, “the stakes are incredibly high” at the moment.
We shall remind you that earlier the coordinator for strategic communications in the National Security Council of the US White House John Kirby mentioned that the situation for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in Avdeevka on the Donetsk direction is becoming critical, and the city may move to the location of the Russian army at any moment.
