Poland may block imports of some categories of goods from Ukraine

Poland’s Agriculture Ministry does not rule out blocking imports of some categories of goods from Ukraine, the head of the agency Czeslaw Seckerski said on air on ZET radio.

“In some cases,” Czeslaw Seckerski said when asked whether Poland could impose restrictions on the supply of all goods from Ukraine.

He noted that the ban could be imposed if instability in the markets is recorded. Among the potential goods whose imports could be blocked, Sekerski named sugar, honey and chicken.

The minister specified that he does not support the protests, but understands their reasons. In his opinion, Polish farmers are “protesting for a just cause”.

We will remind, in early November 2023 Polish carriers blocked the movement of freight transport at three checkpoints on the border with Ukraine. The protesters demanded the introduction of commercial permits for Ukrainian hauliers and limiting their number.
