The initiative to record an interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin came from American journalist Tucker Carlson. This was stated by the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov.
In the broadcast of the programme “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin”, a fragment of which was shared on journalist Pavel Zarubin’s personal Telegram channel, Peskov noted that Carlson himself got in touch with the Kremlin.
“We try not to reveal the inner kitchen, but, indeed, he himself came out to us. He offered this interview,” Peskov said.
Peskov also noted that it did not take Putin long to give his consent to the interview with Carlson.
